Round 1 of 2026-2027 First Division: Public Security and Becamex HCMC kick off

On September 11-13, 2026, the 2026-2027 Vietnamese First Division officially kicks off with 7 matches in Round 1. The season features 14 teams competing for 2 promotion spots to the V-League, while the bottom 2 teams face relegation. Most notably, Công An Nhân Dân (CAND) returns after playing in the V-League last season. Determined to bounce back immediately, CAND will play at home in the opening match. Meanwhile, Becamex TP.HCM, backed by the Becamex Binh Duong conglomerate, also starts with high expectations. In Ho Chi Minh City, the derby between Dai hoc Van Hien and Becamex TP.HCM promises an exciting atmosphere. A notable newcomer is Thép Cần Thơ – a club relocated from Quang Ninh. This change of location raises questions about stability and financial strength. Meanwhile, PVF-CAND (predecessor of CAND) has been restructured to focus on promotion. All Round 1 matches will be broadcast live on platforms: FPT Play, TV360, HTV, and MyTV. This is a positive signal of growing media interest in Vietnam's second-tier league. With many ambitious teams, the season promises drama from the very first round.
